STAIRWAY REMODEL

As a traditional cape cod, the stairway from the first floor to the second floor was drywalled in making it feel very confined especially with all of the doors and the narrow hallways.

Wanting to make the space feel more open and inviting, the drywall was removed from the stairway leading up the second floor as well as the short hallway of the second floor. Once that was removed black iron spindles were installed on a barn beam along with oak posts and railing. The stairs treads were stained a dark walnut while the stair risers were painted a SW off white.

A complete transformation from closed in drywall to modern, open and inviting.
